Herbs of the Gods Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) shreeded 80g

Vermouth is the main ingredient of the legendary absinthe drink, which was invented by a French doctor in 1792. Thought as medicine, it quickly became very popular as a relaxation drink. The effects are narcotic and slightly hallucinogenic.

Soak a teaspoon of the herb in a cup of hot but not boiling water. The tea has a very bitter taste, unfortunately there is little that can be done about it. A little peppermint or aniseed might help.

To prepare absinthe put 40 g wormwood in half a liter of a strong drink (e.g. Pernod) for 1 to 2 weeks. After sifting, this strong drink is ready to be consumed. First try a small glass to dose the effect well.

Wormwood is poisonous in high doses. Heavy and prolonged use can lead to dependency, physical and mental damage. High doses can cause headaches, nervousness, restlessness, cramps, and dizziness. An overdose can lead to unconsciousness, coma, and even death. After the absinthe is finished, try a small glass first and wait an hour for the effect. Try again on another occasion. It is better to dose a little and feel nothing than to poison yourself or get sick. Do not drive under the influence of wormwood.
