Origin The lemon balm, also known as lemon balm, originally comes from the eastern Mediterranean.
Today it is growing almost everywhere in the world.
Botanical The lemon balm (melissa officinalis) is also called lemon balm because of its lemon-like aroma. It is a perennial herb with opposite leaves and whitish flowers in the axils.
When harvesting lemon balm, you should make sure that this happens before the flowering time, because this is when the essential oil content is greatest.
Parts used are fresh parts of the shoots harvested before flowering.
